After looking I found two Savages for sale. One is a 1999 model with 2500 miles. The asking price is $3,400. According to the dealer a new exhaust was placed on the bike as well as new footpegs. The older footpegs had been bent. The owner had bored the older exhaust to give it a louder sound. The chrome pipe has begun to turn blue.(This is normal...but with this low number of miles?) The body looks in pretty good shape with some spots on the front fork..as if it had been peppered by gravel. The owner bought the Savage and decided to trade it in for a dirt bike. The other is a new 2000 model with 0 miles. Should I stay away from this used bike? (No maint papers...I'm concerned about how the bike may have been treated during the break in phase.) Thanks in advance for any help.
